Nero d’Avola is one of those wines that loves to fly under the radar but when you taste it, you totally fall in love forever! It is half way between Pinot Noir and Shiraz and so if you have take a bottle of wine to a mate’s place and you don’t know what they are cooking or what they like to drink, then Nero will totally work. Or if you and your friends are eating out at a restaurant and there are loads of shared plates in front of you but you only can choose one bottle of wine to share, then Nero is going to be the winner. It’s juicy and fresh, it’s full of red and dark fruit flavours with a lovely plushness that fills the mouth but doesn’t feel too heavy or light. It’s just right!
